How does Semaglutide work?
It works by mimicking the hormone GLP-1, which helps regulate appetite and slow down digestion. By increasing GLP-1 levels, semaglutide can help reduce hunger and promote feelings of fullness, leading to weight loss in people with obesity or overweight. Semaglutide is usually given once a week and used in combination with a reduced- calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Your wellness and weight-loss journey begin with a comprehensive consultation with our health care professional. During this visit, we will take a detailed health history, perform a focused physical exam, and review your initial lab work to ensure Semaglutide is a safe and effective option for you.
If you are a candidate for Semaglutide therapy, we will walk you through your treatment options and answer any questions before issuing your first prescription. If compounded Semaglutide is ordered, you will return the following week for your first in-office injection and personalized instruction on how to self-inject at home. If you prefer, you’re always welcome to come in weekly for your injections—we’re happy to accommodate whichever approach makes you most comfortable. At this visit, we will also take baseline photos so you can clearly track your progress over time.
Your Semaglutide dose is typically increased gradually in 4–8 week intervals until your optimal therapeutic dose is reached. Early in your program, follow-up visits occur monthly so we can monitor your response and support your success. Once a stable dose is achieved, follow-up appointments generally transition to every 8–12 weeks, depending on your progress and goals.

Possible Side Effects while taking Semaglutide:
NAUSEA: One of the most common side effects of semaglutide is nausea. This can be mitigated by taking the medication with food (Zofran may be prescribed if necessary).
DIARRHEA: Some people may experience diarrhea while taking semaglutide. This can be managed by drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding foods that can exacerbate the symptoms.
HEADACHES: Headaches are another common side effect of semaglutide. If the headaches are severe or persistent, it is important to speak with a healthcare provider.
CONSTIPATION: Some people may experience constipation while taking semaglutide, this can be managed by drinking plenty of fluids, eating high-fiber foods, and getting regular physical activity.
HYPOGLYCEMIA: Semaglutide may cause low blood sugar, particularly in people with diabetes. This can be mitigated by monitoring blood sugar levels regularly.
INJECTION SITE REACTIONS: Semaglutide is administered via subcutaneous injection and some people may experience redness, swelling, or pain at the injection site.
FATIGUE: Some people may experience fatigue or a lack of energy while taking semaglutide. This can be managed by getting enough sleep and regular physical activity.
DEPRESSON & ANXIETY: Some people may experience depression or anxiety while taking semaglutide. If this occurs, it is important to speak with a healthcare provider.
How Long Until I Start Noticing Weight Loss?:
Usually weight loss with Semaglutide is slow and steady. While this varies person-to-person you can expect to notice weight loss within the first 1-3 months.
How Long Can I Take Semaglutide?
As you continue on your health journey you and your provider can continue to discuss whether Semaglutide continues to be right for you. If you ever want to stop taking Semaglutide, you and your provider can easily plan to taper off.
